Do We Listen?

A man walked into a room to apply for a job as a telegraph operator. He got into a long line of applicants. In the background the tapping of a telegraph message could be heard. To the loud protests of the other applicants, the man moved to the front of the line, and was allowed entrance into the back office. Soon an announcement told the other applicants that they could go home, the position had been filled. The telegraph message heard in the background had repeatedly tapped out these instructions: "Anyone who understands this message, please come into the back office. You will be hired."

How often do we listen to background messages that give us the answer to our problems? How often do we listen for God's instructions?
